Daily Sketch No.139 Entrance to Castelnuovo, Tuscany

This entrance to the town of Castelnuovo makes a nice dark frame to the sunlit piazza inside. The shade is a welcome resting point to the hot sunshine that continues through the day.

A year-long project to produce a sketch everyday documenting the landscape of the medieval hilltop town of Barga in Northern Tuscany and wherever else I may be during this sketching project. All sketches are original and usually on watercolour paper or heavy duty cartridge paper.
